My Story

I want to be your MP because I care and want to make life better for everyone.

Your money is being wasted, our economy is stalling, and our public services are struggling. We all know the problems we face, we just need to fix them.

We need an MP who will take the big decisions and get on with making Bournemouth better. We don’t need a media pundit who will talk about our problems endlessly.

We have a chance to draw a line under the division and distractions of the past—we can create a Bournemouth together where each generation does better than the last.

I grew up fast, caring for disabled parents, supporting them to get the NHS care they needed. I’m proud to have been a council house kid, given every chance in life by public services and caring family members.

Local residents tell me they’ve never seen things as bad as they are now. Teachers, GPs, and the charities that I talk with have never seen families struggling so much.

I want to be your Labour MP to fight your corner and get the NHS back on its feet.

I was a free school meals kid at state schools and—but for teachers working all hours to give children like me a chance—I wouldn’t have become the first in my family to get to university.

I worked all hours to earn enough money in retail and hospitality to get into Cambridge. From there, I was a Fox Fellow in international security at Yale University.

I want to be your Labour MP to break down the barriers to opportunity.

I served as a councillor for nearly 10 years, most of them on the Cabinet, attracting multi-million pound green investments and jobs, and as Deputy Leader, supporting people through the pandemic.

I’m the CEO of a mental health and domestic abuse charity, supporting people seeing doors slammed in their face. I live in East Cliff in Bournemouth East.

Many of our problems are created in Westminster and I want to be your MP to tackle the roots of our issues.
